Within one hiking trip which was only spread over 5 hours I managed to utilise the coat in all its forms. We started off the day with horrendous rain, so the waterproof outer worked a treat, and then as things hotted up (me rather than the weather, the fleece jacket was sufficient and i rolled up the outer layer in my backpack. As soon as the sun dropped the weather turned incredibly cold, and all very depressing! Fortunateley, the zipped in fleece and jacket gave me all the warmth I required til we arrived back at the car.
